A Letter from P'Fella
9 "Christmas Tree" Conditions
To help in both these situations, P'Fella has curated 9 "Christmas Tree" conditions. Ideal for those creating Christmas quizzes or those who have nothing in common with their boss.
- Christmas Tree Bladder: cystographic sign in neurogenic bladders.
- Pityriasis Rosea: Christmas tree-like eruption on the back.
- Christmas disease: coagulation factor IX deficiency.
- Palmar hyperpigmentation: from Christmas Walnuts.
- Christmas Tree Cholangiohepatitis: MR Cholangiogram sign.
- Female Pattern Hair Loss in a Christmas-tree distribution
- Christmas tree foreheadplasty for Craniosynostosis
- Christmas Tree ECG: Bidirectional V-Tachy.
- Chrismas Tree Cataracts - Β linked to myotonic dystrophy.
So next time you have to mingle with your colleagues at a Christmas dinner or have to create a Christmas quiz, you now have 9 talking points.
As a side note, P'Fella did some work on Santa Claus this year π

Article of the Week
"Patients have a higher mortality rate when operated on their surgeon's birthday" π€―
In this 2020 publication, nearly 1 million procedures were performed by close to 50,000 surgeons. 0.2% of operations occurred on the surgeon's birthday. But on those days, their patient's mortality rate was 1.3% higher. The authors do no state if plastic surgeons were recruited into this study.
In the 2021 publication, here are two honorable mentions that are semi-related to plastic surgery: the hazards of Christmas tree plants and the role of Christmas cards to retain trial participants.
