Clinical Scenario

37 y/o male, construction worker presented to the Emergency Department with injury to his right middle finger. He slipped whilst climbing a fence. The primary survey excluded any other injuries.

Objectives:
1. Classify ring avulsion injuries using the Urbaniak classification.
2. Clinically assess and examine the injured hand for injuries.
3. Different management options in ring avulsion injuries.
4. Knowledge of rehabilitation protocols following revascularization.
5. Counsel patients effectively regarding possible complications.
